Dancer par excellence Vyjayanthi Kashi’s career spans over an impressive spectrum of performance, choreography, teaching, acting, research and organizing. Her works has been featured in several National and International festivals round the globe in around 18 countries.Vyjayanthi is a frequent presenter at international dance conferences and symposia. Her film and television credits include documentaries and interviews. on Doordarshan, Sony Television, Zee T V, E-NADU, UDAYA and CHANDANA etc. She is an acclaimed TV actress, being featured in some of the famous regional TV serials. To mention a few Mukta Kukta , Manvantara, Male Billu and more.
She serves on the Arts and Cultural Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural, Government of India. Founder of the Shambhavi School of Dance she has rained many dance aspirants round the world. She has been honored with several awards including Central Sangeeth Natak Academy Puraskar, Karnataka State Rajyothsav Award , Kala Shree from KSNA , Zee Astitva, Araya Bhatta, Alva’s Nudisiri Puraskar and Vocational Excellence Awards for her contribution to Kuchipudi. She is the current Chairperson of Karnataka Sangeet Nritya Academy.

With a vision to promote artistic and professional excellence she established the Shambhavi School of Dance, a premier arts organization in 1993. For Vyjayanthi, theatre is the all-encompassing universal vehicle for her creative vision; it expresses life itself in the richness of all its myths and rituals.
Shambhavi School of Dance, Bangalore was established in 1993 as a Gurukul of Indian classical dance and music. As the horizon was rediscovered during its artistic journey of sixteen years, SSD redefined its existence as a center for promotion, dissemination and training of arts.Shambhavi School of Dance touches the lives of thousands of young people, shaping their dreams and aspirations. A registered charitable trust, No. 299-1993-94, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, believes in the strength and intensity of the ancient tradition, yet evolving a new tradition, a Gurukul of the contemporary period spreading the ancient classical dance form KUCHIPUDI. Shambhavi is supported by dance exponents, creative professionals as well as international dance facilitators.
