Srija Banerji – A gifted singer from the East.
Srija Banerji‘s interest in music started since my childhood days, to be more precise from the age of three; She had her first stage show when she was merely three years old. Eventually she started to learn Rabindra Sangeet at a tender age of six, under the tutelage of renowned Rabindra Sangeet teacher of both Dakshini and Shantiniketan Bireswar Basu.
She have no inhibitions to say that from the young age she started to win lot of awards and accolades, which is continuing till today.
To add variety to my music she started to learn adhunik bangla gaan from Jatileswar Mukherjee, whose name requires little mention. To add more variety and finesse to my tonal quality and variation, Srija undertook intense musical training from Haimanti Shukla, whomshe respectfully consider as her Guru Ma. I also trained under renowned grooming expert Subhadip Mukhopadhyay, of the Sa re ga ma fame.
Srijas first album–Tomar Sur Sunaye was launched in 2009 under Raaga Music. This was soon followed by Remembrance, her first Hindi music album. Both the albums received rave reviews and Remembrance reached the chartbuster status in Music World (the highest number of CDs sold within one week of launch). Indeed Remembrance opened the doors for Srija for the playback music industry. She got the opportunity to work as a playback singer in two bengali movies–Lattoo and Aleyar Alo. Presently She is working with several bengali music directors and everything goes according to plan, Srija is soon going to sign a contract for a Hindi Movie under a very well-known banner.
It is indeed very surprising that she have been able to cross quite a few milestones in a career spanning no more than a year. Srija also feel extremely proud and contented when most of the music directors he was working with vouches for her voice. Srija is extremely hopeful that she will be able to offer some real good songs in both the bengali and hindi movie industry. She is also doing lot of shows in all over India-like Mumbai,Kolkata and abroad too..
