Rachna Sinha – an accomplished Kathak Dancer

rachna Rachna Sinha an accomplished Kathak Dancer and Founder of ABHYAS an association of Art Culture & Social Welfare. She received her extensive training in Kathak from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya (Gaziabad) and then started her sincere training in Kathak from the renowned Guru Pt. Krishan Mohan Maharaj. He is the eldest son of Padmashri Pt. Shambhu Maharaj (Whom the world revered as Abhinay Samrat) belongs to the illustrious Kalka Bindadin Gharana of Lucknow. She completed her post diploma from Kathak Kendra New Delhi. She received scholarship from the Kathak Kendra and National scholarship for Kathak Dance from the Department of culture, Government of India.

She performed in so many places in India and Abroad like Kalka Bindadin Mahotsava (New Delhi), Dikshant Samaroh (New Delhi), yuva Mahotsava by North Zone Cultural Center (Patna, Bihar), Programme for tsunami victims organized by Medical Association (New Delhi), Lucknow kathak Kendra Mahotsava (Lucknow), Alvas Virasat Festival (Manglore), Kala Nadam Festival (Banglore), Kathak Mahotsava 2007 organized by Kathak Kendra (Mumbai), Kathak Festival organized by Sangeet Natak Academy and Kathak Kendra New Delhi in Ernakulam, Kovalam, and Tiruvanantpuram (Kerla), India’s Heritage Festival organized by Delhi Tourism Government of India in old fort New Delhi, The Guni Festival (Raipur, M.P), Kumbhalgarh Festival by Tourism Department (Udaypur Rajasthan).She did Workshops and performances in Bangladesh as a Dance assistant of Guru Pt. Krishan Mohan Maharaj through ICCR, Many Dance Festivals in USA, Canada, Europe, Spain Bangladesh etc.

She has special interest in teaching she did workshop and choreographed programme for the blind children of “BLIND RELIEF ASSOCIATION” New Delhi. She also performed in so many regional videos like Hindi, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Gadhwali, and Kumauni. She has been honored with the title of “Shringarmani” by Sur Shringar Samsad Mumbai and “Miss Madhubani” 1999 by the Jain Sabha Samiti Delhi. She worked as a Repertory Artist in Kathak Kendra New Delhi. As a Teaching Faculty she was a part of Sangeet Bharti New Delhi.
