10th Devadasi Awards were awarded to 8 different Dancers at Bhubaneswar on 14th October, 2015

The Devdasi Nrutya Mandir, in collaboration with the State’s Department of Tourism and Culture, are organising the Devdasi Rashtriya Nrutya Samaroha – Devadasi Festival, at the Rabindra Mandap every year with an aim to encourage and showcase the inherent talents of artists before the audience.

The award every year goes to one of the eight Indian classical dances, Odissi, Bharat Natyam, Kathak, Manipuri, Sattriya, Kuchipudi, Mohini Attam and Kathakali. This is the one and only festival in India where one can find a combination of classical and temple ritual dances.

This year Devadasi Fest awards were awarded to Dr.Indu G. ( Koodiyattam Dancer. Kerala ), Smt Uma Dogra ( Kathak Dancer, Mumbai ), Y, Hemanta Kumar Yaikhom ( Manipuri dancer , Imphal ),Smt Sharon Lowen ( Odissi , New Delhi ),Smt Anupama Mohan ( Kuchipudi, Kerala ), Dr Sandhya Purecha ( Bharath Natyam, Mumbai ),Smt Sharodi Saikia ( Sattriya, Guwahati ) and Gopika Varma ( Mohini Attam, Chennai ).
